Abstract

A 12.5 GHz spaced super dense WDM ring network handling 256 wavelengths with tapped type OADMs was analyzed. The feasibility of the network employing the prototype optical carrier supply module (OCSM) was shown by transmission experiments. The modulated signals were demultiplexed and multiplexed by AWGs with 12.5 GHz spacing to decorrelate each optical carrier and to remove the unnecessary optical side bands.
