140 Gbit/s coherent optical transmission over 150 km with a 10 Gsymbol/s polarization-multiplexed 128 QAM signal

Abstract

We demonstrate a 140 Gbit/s coherent optical transmission over 150 km with a polarization-multiplexed 10 Gsymbol/s, 128 QAM format in a 20 GHz bandwidth. Error-free 120 Gbit/s-150 km transmission is also realized with 64 QAM.
