Abstract

0.8ps TL signal pulses are generated at 160Gbit/s from a gain-switched DFB-LD using an adiabatic soliton compressor and an optical multiplexer. The 160Gbit/s signal is demultiplexed to 10Gbit/s by using an optical loop mirror, which has a minimum optical gate width of 3.0ps at the small switching energy of 0.5pJ.
