Abstract

A 60-GHz half-mode SIW bandpass filter using GaAs technology is proposed in this paper. By etching four slots on the top layer, the half-mode SIW cavity is divided into three resonators. Two slots centered in the metal layer provide the electric coupling between the adjacent resonators. And the other two slots away from center are used to adjust the impedance matching between the feed lines and the half-mode SIW cavity. Based on the concept of coupled resonators and synthesis method, the dimensions of filter are determined and well tuned to get a predicted transmission zero in the stopband, which sharpens the roll-off skirt and improves the stopband performance.
