Abstract

A CMOS image sensor having the functions with extracting color image feature values for real time object categorization system has been developed. The CMOS image sensor has the pixels of 5.6-μm-pitch and 640H × 360V, and the column arithmetic logic units (ALUs) which output 36-bit/pixel image feature values consisting of color information (8-bit/R, G, B) and edge information (4-bit/R, G, B) in every 240-fps. As a result, the object categorization system having both high-speed and highfunctional processing has been demonstrated.
