Abstract

This paper deals with a method for controlling the sound field using multiple sound sources and sensors. Methods based on Kirchhoff's integral equation are the most effective and promising ones. However, even if the sound pressure on the boundary of the region to be controlled is given, the sound field inside the boundary cannot be reproduced if the frequency of the reproduced sound coincides with one of the eigenfrequencies defined by the internal Dirichlet problem of the control region. To avoid this problem, we herein propose controlling sound intensity at some additional local points within the controlled region. The results of computer simulation showed that the sound field can be successfully reproduced by this proposed new method.
