A ruptured aneurysm at basilar artery fenestration treated by intraaneurysmal embolization

A 47-year-old woman presented with occipitalgia, vomiting, and loss of consciousness was transferred to our unit due to subarachnoid hemorrhage with a saccular aneurysm arising from the proximal part of the fenestration of the basilar artery (BA). This aneurysm was treated by intraaneurysmal embolization using Guglielmi detachable coil (GDC) without causing neurological deficit. Aneurysm at the fenestration of the BA is rare, and most cases are reported to be treated surgically. Although some patients with ruptured BA fenestration aneurysm were treated with detachable balloon, no such patient was treated with GDCs.
