Abstract
A method to compensate the mutual coupling between array elements composed of multi-mode antennas and single-mode antennas is proposed. By introducing a concept of an equivalent array spacing, the compensation can be achieved without using the directions of the incident waves. Numerical results for an array composed of a dipole element and a loop element are shown to demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.
