Abstract

The post-processing for PRML system with AR channel model in perpendicular magnetic recording was studied. An interleaved parity check coding was used to determine the error event at the output of Viterbi detector. The experimental results showed that the post-processor improves the linear density of about 55kBPI in a perpendicular magnetic recording.
