Abstract

This paper describes suitable shapes for cloth transformers with reduced power loss. The self-inductance, leakage reactance and resistance (equivalent to the iron loss) were measured for various core arrangement patterns to evaluate the characteristics of such cloth transformers. A cloth transformer shape which proved to be optimal for reducing power losses was found.
