Abstract

A new definition and interpretation of nonlinear parameter β and scalar potential ø of the one-dimensional phenomenological nonlinear scalar equation of surface acoustic waves (SAW) are proposed. This definition made it possible to solve the problem of SAW waveform distortion caused by its nonlinearity. Finally, the discontinuity length of the SAW propagating along the X-axis on 128°-rotated Y-cut LiNbO3 was obtained by means of this definition.
