Abstract
The development of an assay for the analysis of etheno 2′- Deoxygyanosine (dGuo) adducts from biological matrices was described. The use of isotope dilution liquid chromatography/atomospheric pressure chemical ionization/mass spectrometry (LC/APCI/MA) was also discussed. The reaction between 13-hydroperoxyoctadecadienoic acid (13-HPODE) and dGuo in the presence of vitamin C resulted in the fomation of three products; etheno-dGuo, carboxynonanone etheno-dGuo, and heptanone ehteno-dGuo. The results show that the mass spectrum of the most polar adduct (10.4 min) revealed an intense protonated molecular ion (H +) along with a BH 2 + ion at m/z 176.
