Abstract

This paper presents a new approach for assessment of event trees with dependent branches using capabilities of Bayesian networks (BN) for dependability analysis. The problem is discussed for combining static and dynamic fault trees with event tree separately. After describing the procedure and generally comparing it with present methods, an application example is presented and capabilities of the new approach along with further required considerations are discussed.
