N2 - Several Iron-base alloys were Investigated by low-wattage glow discharge emission spectrometry. The emission Intensity principally depended on the sputtering parameters of constituent elements In the alloy. However, in the case of chromium, stable and firm oxides formed on the surface Influencing the yield of ejected atoms. This paper discusses the relation between the sputtering parameters in Fe-NI, Fe-Cr, and Fe-Co alloys and their relative emission intensities. Additionally, quantitative analysis was performed for some ternary Iron-base alloys and commercial stainless steels with the calibration factors of binary alloy systems.
