Abstract

The analysis of scrapped materials by low-pressure (LP) laser-induced plasma spectroscopy (LIPS) was presented. The qualitative information about the surface coatings of the steel plates was obtained. The design of the chamber of LP-LIPS was also presented. The impurity elements which degraded the quality of commercial steels were identified by placing this chamber on the surface and by irradiating the laser beam.
