Abstract

The temperature dependence of the static spin susceptibility ξspin and the lattice parameters has been measured for a single crystal of the superconductor mentioned in the title. No magnetic anisotropy is found in ξspin (T), excluding the possibility of any magnetic ordering. The ξspin is almost constant down to 100 K, below which it starts to decrease, accompanied with a 20% reduction. The interlayer spacing d100 takes a maximum around 100 K, which could be reduced to the change in the hydrogen-bonding distance between the terminal ethylene and the counter anion molecule -SCN-Cu-NCS-. Based on these anomalies with resistance maximum around 100 K, the valence mixing states of Cu1+ and Cu2+ ions at high temperatures are postulated.
