Abstract
Tensile properties of Ti-[7 ∼ 13] mol%Al have been studied at 1100 K. The steady-state deformation behavior was analyzed by a Dorn-type creep equation. Both the strain rate and the stress at steady state showed the anomalous strengthening behavior in comparison with the values expected from the deformation mechanism in Ti-[1-5] mol%Al. The anomalous high temperature strengthening may be attributable to a local chemical ordering.
