Abstract

A ω-2θdouble-axis diffractometer system for the anomalous x-ray scattering has been built at the 7C beam line of Photon Factory in National Laboratory for High Energy Physics, Tsukuba. The mounting table with automated x-z translation and manual rotation around the z axis enables to freely adjust the position and direction of the ω-2θ goniometer. Since this system is designed to hold about 10 kg in weight on the counter arm, a handy type solid state detector was used without any trouble. The usefulness of this facility has been demonstrated by measuring the energy dependence of intensity in the Al-Ge-Mn alloy of quasicrystal near the Ge-edge, and the Ba-Y-Cu-O oxide of high temperature superconductor near the Cu-edge.
