Abstract

We have investigated the magnetoresistance (MR) behavior on annealing Cu-Co films sputter deposited on cooled substrates. The MR behavior on annealing shows a clear contrast between the Co concentrations (x) lower and higher than the magnetic percolation threshold (xc ≈ 25 at%). For x > xc, anisotropic MR as seen in simple ferromagnets changes into giant MR on annealing.
