Abstract

Diversity reception is incorporated into the structure of approximate maximum likelihood differential phase detection (MLDPD) for M-ary DPSK. The bit error rate (BER) performance improvements obtained with MLDPD are evaluated by computer simulation for 4DPSK in frequency selective Rician fading channels.
