Abstract

This chapter reviews single-molecule observations of porphyrinoid molecules. These are versatile materials that have excellent physical properties associated with their expanded π-electron systems, which are likely to find applications in future nanoscience. The resolution of the observed images is strongly dependent on the substrate used.
