Abstract

Japanese universities, including our university, launched the Education Network for Practical Information Technologies (enPiT2) project in 2016. We collaborate with 14 universities to establish the Information Security Education Program (Basic SecCap), which will provide various types of lectures, practical exercises, and project-based learning (PBL). This course aims to build human resources that are able to apply information technology toward the creation of new social values and new industries. In this paper, we explain Basic SecCap in Tohoku University and verify its education effectiveness. From the questionnaire results, we confirm that most of students satisfied the Basic SecCap course, and felt that they increased awareness of information security and its practical skill.
