N2 - Optical losses of incoherent light in bent hollow waveguides are analyzed theoretically. The analysis is based on geometrical optics and provides a much simpler and efficient calculation method than the conventional ray-tracing method. By comparing theoretical and experimental results, it is demonstrated that the present calculation method gives precise evaluations for the bending losses.
