N2 - The title tetraselenafulvalene (BET-TSF) and four related hybrid diselenadithiafulvalenes (STF) have been synthesized as a five-membered heterocycle-fused tetrathiafulvalene type of novel electron donors, which form highly conducting molecular complexes with 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane. In particular, the complex of BET-TSF shows a room-temperature conductivity of 2600 S cm-1 which is of the highest class for a molecular complex.
