N2 - Bone-bonding ability of glass-ceramic apatite-Wollastonite (A-W) - polyethylene composite was investigated. The effect of varying the filler content on the bone-bonding ability of this novel composite was analyzed by means of detaching test and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. It was found that with increasing time and filler content, the strength of the bond increased. The lower failure strength of the composites than the glass-ceramic A-W was due to purely mechanical bonding being present between the filler and matrix materials. The results show that with increasing glass-ceramic A-W filler content, the strength of the bond increases.
