Abstract

This paper presents localization of tumor at 13 different positions deep inside a dense human breast using only 4 meander line microstrip patch antennas of operating frequency 1.5 GHz for the detection of breast cancer. The reflection coefficients of the antennas demonstrates a very uniform pattern for localization of the tumors in CST Microwave Studio simulation environment. The result of this work can help to develop a portable medical device for breast cancer detection at home by analyzing the reflection coefficient data of the 4 antennas.
