Abstract

Sugarcane bagasse was milled using a high-pressure (100 MPaG) homogenizer and then graphitized in the temperature range 1800-2400 C. The samples obtained were examined by transmission electron microscopy. Carbon tubules containing nanocrystalline SiC were discovered. Their diameter and length were ca. 50-200 nm and 2-30 μm, respectively.
