Abstract

Cathodic process of Ce(III) ion in NaC1-2CsC1 molten system at tungsten micro-disk electrode was investigated by cyclic voltamrnetry and square wave voltammetry. The result shows that the cathodic process of Ce(III) ion in the melt consists of two steps: Ce3+ + e- = Ce2+ and Ce2+ + 2e- = Ce. The cathodic kinetics and the diffusion coefficient of Ce(III) in the melt were determined.
