Abstract

This paper describes nano-assembly using cell locomotion force. Locomotion force is tiny force such as 10-7 N, however it is enough power to transport own cell body or micro parts. Micro pattering of cell adhesion molecule and low cell binding material promoted working force of cell movement for nano-assembly. We demon-strated two types of cell driven nano-assembly, which were cell self-inserted tung-sten nano-needle (80-200 nm in diameter and 6 μm high) in own cell body for intra-cellular electrode, and aligned cells carrying a glass micro bead, for construction a hybrid bionic architecture.
