N2 - A facile preparation of Silico-Pepsin biocatalysts within mesoporous silicas, MCM-41 and SBA-15 has been achieved, by encapsulation of the enzyme. The shrinking of the pores was obtained by grafting with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES). The hybrid bio-inorganic materials were characterized by XRD, TEM, Volumetric (N2 sorption), FT-IR and DR-UV-Vis techniques and their catalytic activity was evaluated by peptic hydrolysis of a dipeptide, Z-L-glutamyl-L-tyrosine solution.
