Abstract

We have developed 40-Gbit/s-class analog/ digital IC modules using InAlAs/InGaAs/InP HEMTs for optical transmission systems. In this paper, we describe the devices, circuit-design, and packaging technologies that improve the performance of the IC modules. Moreover, we propose a next-generation IC that uses quantum devices and optoelectronic device.
