Abstract
Our purpose was to determine clinical factors related to the regional body volume reduction rate (RBVRR) during radical external radiotherapy for head and neck cancer. 50 oropharyngeal and 62 hypopharyngeal cancer patients were enrolled and analyzed retrospectively. The median of RBVRR was 6.4% (range, 1.2-23.7%). A statistically significant RBVRR was observed in hypopharyngeal cancer patients with concurrent chemoradiotherapy with docetaxel, cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil (TPF regimen) (p = 0.04).
