Abstract

Six analysis methods for jointed rock mass recently developed in Japan are compared. Analysis of the cavern excavation for Shiobara power station of Tokyo Electric Power Company is carried out and input parameters for each method are determined so that the measurement data are best reproduced. Numerical results are compared with measured data and the dominant mechanism that results in the characteristic behaviors of rock mass is investigated.
