Abstract
A method is presented for designing an intelligent interface system for end users who are unfamiliar with a computer network system. The interface system assists them to utilize distributed resources in a network system without knowing operation commands. The focus is on the way in which the interface system understands requirements of end users and plans a sequence of network operations to realize them. The system is based on a top-down design method, in which requirements of end users are first analyzed and the network system is designed in order to realize them.
