Abstract

Lnrge scale Cn24%Ag plates have been developed for high field Bitter magnets. Using lhe.sc plates, we have succeeded in constructing a double Bitter inngnet for 30T hybrid magnet with 32mm roam temperature bore, This double Bitter magnet successfully generated 10T under tlic backup field of 11. IT by a large ho re superconducting magiicl, A current anJ power for the water conled mngnet are about 21.3kA and 6.9MW, respectively. Using this 30T hybrid magnet, we have performed crystal growth of NHjCl In water levitated by a magnetic, field. It has been turned out that only one crystal grows in snch levitating condition and nucleation of crystal is strongly suppressed lu n magnetic field different from In the normal condition,
