Abstract

We present a practical method for controlling non-adiabatic photodissociation on the basis of wave-packet theory. The ratio of the two reaction channels in the photodissociation of Nal can be controlled by changing the pulse width of two successive short pulses. We can control the reaction most effectively when we use a chirped pulse with approximately optimized chirp parameters.
