Abstract
The lineshapes of core photoemission spectra of U3P4 and U3As4 single crystals are studied. It is found that the U derived core states show characteristic asymmetry except for the oxidized surface, whereas the asymmetry is negligible for the anion derived core states. These results are discussed by considering the screening effect by the U 6d state and hybridization effects. The constant final state spectra in the U 5d→5f absorption region is also discussed.
