Cross Helicity and Alignment Structure in Two-Dimensional MHD Turbulence

Abstract

Two-dimensional MHD decaying turbulence is studied by numerical calculations with high resolution. Strong local alignment of velocity fields and magnetic fields is observed. This supports the importance of the cross hekicity effect in the dynamo problem.
