N2 - Microdroplet-based protein crystallization using nanodroplet formation induced by spontaneous emulsification is proposed and demonstrated. While the control of the condensation rate of the protein solution required highly accurate flow control or complicated microfabrication in the previous microfluidic protein crystallization systems, this method can achieve it in a simple way; just by changing the surfactant concentration of organic phase in contact with microdroplets. By utilizing this method, the protein crystallization is demonstrated.
