Abstract
The CT findings in eight patients with urachal cysts and carcinomas were reviewed retrospectively. CT scans demonstrated cysts of various sizes, solid masses and mixed lesions. Three lesions had both extravesical and intravesical components. All had the more prominent extravesical components and suggested an extravesical origin along the urachus. One infected cyst and two carcinomas showed thick contrast-enhanced walls with central hypodensity. However, the carcinomas had more irregular and thicker walls when compared with the infected cyst. Calcification of the wall was recognized in both a cyst and carcinomas, and the calcified foci in the carcinomas were smaller than in the benign cyst.
