Abstract
Electronic absorption, induced circular dichroism, and 1H NMR spectroscopies, together with molecular orbital calculations, have indicated the attainment of a deep axial inclusion of two aromatic molecules by β-cyclodextrin and dimethyl-β-cyclodextrin, by selecting quinhydrone (1:1 compound consisting of benzoquinone and hydroquinone) as a guest molecule.
