Abstract
The conventional analysis of meander lines, i. e. , striplines with zig-zag center conductors, is based on the coupling between adjacent conductors. The performance of all-pass meander lines is analyzed, taking into account the coupling among all conductors by employing an equivalent transformation which is frequently used in the analysis of distributed coupled circuits. It is shown that the phase characteristics of three-wire meander lines with a sufficiently high degree of coupling among conductors can be approximated by a linear phase. The measured result agrees well with the theory. The design procedure of the meander-line type delay line is also presented.
