Abstract

We synthesized alkyl group bearing maltopentaose as an amphiphpilic primers of enzymatic polymerization of amylose. For example, dodecyl group primer (DA-primer) was formed micelle in aqueous solution. The association and dissociation of DA-primer was controlled by enzymatic reaction. In the presence of DA primer micelle (1 mM), the contact angle of the droplet on the surface modified polyethylene terephthalate was changed from 50.2° to 62.0° by enzymatic polymerization for 100 min. Such enzyme responsive properties can be applied to the field of colloidal science and biotechnology.
