Abstract

A cloth inductor makes a feature of planar shape and meander magnetic path. In this paper we calculated relations of inductance per unit volume of the device to permeability of amorphous wire and diameters of winding and warps. Calculating result in dicates the existence of a suitable ratio of diameter of winding to that of warp. We also calculated the characteristics of the device using an equivalent circuit and discussed about desirable characteristics of amorphous wire based on the analysis. Analysis showed the necessity of increase in both permeability and resistivity and of decrease in diameter of amorphous wire to improve quality factor of the device.
