Abstract

Magnetic measurement techniques have been used to determine the microstructure of metal particle dispersions with the eventual aim being to find a method of assessing dispersion quality during the manufacturing process of magnetic tape. We find that there are three processes which contribute to the magnetisation processes in a dispersion and that the effect of milling is to produce a more uniform dispersion.
