Abstract

A large cylindrical drift chamber is being built for the VENUS detector at the e+-e- storage ring TRISTAN at KEK. A total of 7104 drift cells is arranged in twenty-nine concentrical layers. The twenty axial layers are combined into double layers to simplify the task of the pattern recognition software. A spatial resolution of 150 ≃m is aimed at.
