N2 - Nickel-magnesia solid solution catalyst (Ni0 03Mg0 97O) was found to have high resistance to carbon formation during CO2 reforming of methane. Although deactivation due to the oxidation of reduced Ni happened, it is easily prevented by the addition of hydrogen to the reaction gas. The amount of deposited carbon increased gradually with increase in the reaction pressure. It was also found that the addition of calcium is very effective to its inhibition.
