Abstract

There have been a lot of researches on measuring method of sediment transport rate due to waves. However, as for observation at a river mouth where very complicated forces are acting in a nonlinear manner, measuring system has not been established yet. In the present study, a measurement is performed for suspended sediment concentration at a river mouth by using a photoelectric type sand surface profiler. Furthermore, calibration method is proposed to correlate output voltage from the photoelectric type sand face meter with concentration of suspended sediment.
