Development of the VAD inflow cannula with high stiffness using hybrid material

The problem is wedge thrombus due to material of cannula. We thought that to solve the problem replace its' material with hybrid material. Hybrid blood inflow cannula is formed by implanting the core which consists of polyester velour and titanium conduit. Then, the cell component decellularized. By using this cannula, examined on chronic animal experiment with VAD in heterologous transplantation to evaluate the biocompatibility of cannula. As a result, the goat survived 53days without antithrombogenic agents and the cannula was connected to neighboring cardiac muscle smoothly and thrombos weren't formed. And the result of immunostaining, surface of cannula was coated with endothelial cells.
