Direct Manipulation of Transverse Mode of a Yb:YAG Laser by a Scanning Pump Beam

Abstract

We demonstrate a novel method for the direct generation of single-transverse, higherorder Hermite-Gaussian and Laguerre-Gaussian mode beams from a Yb:YAG laser pumped by a high-speed scanning beam without any alignment of a laser cavity.
